We met 12 years ago at a folk dance when Debi playfully stole Ed's hat - she eventually gave it back. We soon became best friends and then married 3 years later. While we have grown a lot over the years, we find that the same common interests that brought us together continue to bind us - folk music and dance, a concern for the environment, a love and respect for nature - and, of course, each other!
Our families and friends are very excited about our decision to adopt a child and have been helpful and supportive of our efforts. We can’t wait to celebrate a new birthday and have another voice to join in our silly songs, and someone to teach us a new way to dance. We also look forward to music lessons, ball games, and trips to the elephant seal rookery and the local zoo. We enjoy tending to (and eating) the vegetables we grow in our organic garden. We like outdoor activities whether it is hiking on a trail in the local mountains or watching the sunset at the beach, or bird watching at a local wild-life preserve. We also enjoy attending folk dance and music events as well as the various annual multi-cultural fairs held in and around Los Angeles. We always find time for our families, and take trips to see Debi's sister and her family in Arizona, and Ed's parents in Nevada. Some of the best times we have together are the simple, every day things: playing games and making up silly songs, cooking the evening meal, laughing at the antics of our cats, and the hugs we share. The pitter-patter of little feet and squeals of laughter would complete the dream of a family we have had for many years.
